Map of European Union
On the 1st of January, 2007 the map of European Union was enlarged with 2 more countries – Bulgaria and Romania. With this accession the number of countries members of EU became 27.
Countries on the map of European Union: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom.
In Sofia we had a spectacular light show, directed by world famous light artist Gert Hof, to celebrate our European Union membership.
In Bulgaria people don’t experience any big differences between the life before and after the accession to EU. Expectations are that business will benefit from EU and this will influence the overall situation in Bulgaria.
Many Bulgarians are happy that free traveling around the European countries is easy and may be this is the best results of accession.
There ere 3 more candidate countries for European Union – Croatia, Macedonia and Turkey.
