Sofia news – To visit the workshop of Santa Claus
There is a workshop of Santa Claus in front of National Palace of Culture in Sofia. Snow-Whites will be there from December 14 to December 23 and will help children make their own Christmas decorations by themselves as well as write letters with their wishes.
There will be a special photo corner at the workshop where everybody will be able to take amusing photographs free of charge. Each day until Christmas Eve, a Bulgarian mobile operator will give away one Sony Ericsson handset.
The gifts will be personally handed by Santa Claus to the lucky ones, whose lottery tickets are drawn in a special lottery.

Sofia News: The biggest ice-rink on the Balkans
The biggest ice-rink on the Balkans is opened from 16th of December for metropolitans and visitors of Sofia at Lake Ariana.
The working hours of the ice-rink is every day from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. 400 pairs of skates are rented for the visitors.
The price per pair is 4 BGN for the whole day. The entrance of the rink is 3 BGN and for students and children – 1.50 BGN. The “village” includes a 1200 sq.m. ice-rink and stalls for toys and goodies. There will be also Christmas houses, imported from Austria, which are analogical to the famous Viennese houses. They are heated and there the visitors will be offered food and hot drinks. For cheering up the spirits, the organizers have decorated a big Christmas tree.
The Christmas village will function until 30th of March 2007. Regular DJ parties, skating competitions and charity actions are expected to be carried out there.

Sofia News: The big shopping marathon
The best present that you can buy for your friends and family from Bulgaria is something made in Bulgaria.
And you can find it at a good price. From 14th of December till 28th of December in the National Palace of Culture (NDK) there is a selling expose “Made in Bulgaria”.
This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know the work and products of the firms from the country. The expose takes place every year.
This winter 350 firms are representing their products on it. The “shops” are situated on 6 floors. You can buy:
- Jewelries (Souvenirs from natural stones, hand made jewelries from ceramics, necklaces, bracelets, rings, brooch etc., semi precious and precious stones).
- Goods (decorative, aromatic candles and soaps; table-cloth, bed-spread, household linen etc.).
- Sweeties (chocolate and sugar products, hand-made cakes for holiday events, honey and jam) Bulgarian wine.
- Clothes, shoes and bags (lady’s, gentlemen’s and children’s fashion) Accessories (belts, gloves, shawls etc.).
- Toys
- Souvenirs and gifts
- Cosmetics
Working time is from 10:00 a.m. till 8:00 p.m., the entry is free.

Sofia News: Take a picture of Bruce Willis
Do you want to see Robert De Niro, Bruce Willis, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Brad Pit while you are on a vacation in Bulgaria?
They are all “under one roof” (pod edin pokriv). Till 5th of January 2008 in the National Museum “Earth and man” there is represented for a second time an exhibition of wax figures from St. Petersburg.
The exposition consists of 50 figures with natural height. It takes almost 2 months to be made.
Most of the exhibits represent real people but you can find mystical ones as well. There are mythological characters like Zevs, Centaurs, Harpy etc., famous musicians and actors; sportsmen, etc.
There is represented the composition “The Last Supper” from Leonardo Da Vinci. Ladies can take a picture of David Beckam, Bruce Willis and Robert De Niro. The exposition includes the figures of Visotski and Chelentano.
You can visit the museum every day from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. The price is 3 levs, and if you want to take a picture of the figures, you have to pay 2 levs extra. The exposition is free for children under 7 years.
